Tom Mathews, Waiting for Goldfish

Tom Mathews, Waiting for Goldfish is a short documentary I made in 2008. We filmed it around Tom's local Dublin habitats and its a quirky look at the character and the cartoonist who's work appears regularly in the Irish Times and many other publications.

It won the best short documentary award at the 2009 Clones Film Festival as well as being screened at all the major Irish film festivals including Cork Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh, Stranger than Fiction Documentary Festival and many more.

As well as his weekly Cartoons in The Irish Times, Sunday Inpedendent and Hot Press Tom has a book of cartoons 'The Best of Tom Mathews' released in 2005 and he recently released a book of poetry 'The Owl and the Pussycat'.
